There are approximately 14,000 taxis in Athens and it isn't very expensive, so it is a good way to get around Athens by Taxi.
You may hire a Taxi either in the street or by phoning one of the cab companies (i.e. Radio Taxi Cosmos call 1300).
There are two taxi fares depending on the time of the day:
Tariff-1 is the normal tariff used from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm,
Tariff-2 is the night tariff used from 12:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Tariff-2 is also used outside the city zone. All taxi drivers must use the taxi-meter (unless you make a personal agreement) and the type of Tariff should be clearly visible on the meter.
