The largest nome/perfecture of Thessaly, is extended from Mts.Olympus and Ossa to Orthys and the Aegean Sea.And in their midsts lies the fertile valley, enriched by the plentiful waters of Peneios. One could tour and enjoy Larissa all year round. Its famous capital by the same name, Larissa, is sprawled idolently in the vast lowland. Larissa is a very interesting city, with significant intellectual and social life. In antiquity, Hippocrates (the father of medicine) lived for a number of years and it was here in this city that he died.
