General Information for Thesprotia
Endless sandy shores, little ports with beutiful blue waters, picturesque mountainous villages, ancient ruins and historic sights narrating a historic past, compose the elements of the perfecture of Thesprotia. Egoumenitsa, the capital (7,500 pop.), crowned by two verdant hills, is a modern town with a very crowded and noisy (especally during the summer months) port. The town had been destroyed during the German occupation and was rebuilt in 1944. Sights:

  • Tower of Raghios
  • the village of Plataria (appr. 8 1/2 m.iles south), with a lovely beach.
