| The few villages are like a flowless painting.
The peculiar-shaped rocks resemble human figures which resurrect the
myth of the prehistoric inhabitants of the island who were petrified
by Medusa.
Another attraction is the monastery of Taxiarhon near the village, Ghalani. The
greatest appeal of the island, however, are the enchanting shores: Megha Livathi,
Koutalas, Aghios Sostis, Psili Ammos, Aghios Ioannis, Sykamia, Kalo Ampeli.

The unique ambience of the island is continually attracting
more and more visitors, who enjoy a placid vacation but with many depictions of a place that has a lot to offer.
Surrounding villages:
Livathi the lovely picturesque port; Pyrgos and Ghalani; The Mone/Monastery
Taxiarhon looks from far like an impregnable castle; Koutalas a village without
permanent residents, from here you visit the Cyclop Cave with stalactites and stalagmites. |
