Athens

Athens is the capital and biggest city of Greece. This city once considered being the center of the world and the city of light. Athens from her own is a big museum and her monuments cover up all the periods of Greek civilization.

Delphi

Delphi was the great pan-Hellenic sanctuary. There the most famous during ancient times Oracle, was in operation. Every day hundreds of people from the entire ancient world were gathered in Delphi to consult Pithia, the representative of god Apollo in earth.

Dodoni

Dodoni was the most ancient sanctuary of Greeks and for this reason the most respectable. It was dedicated to Jupiter, father of all gods. Many researchers doubted about Dodoni’s Greek roots, but today and after the archaeological surveys there is no doubt about that.

Olympia

Besides being one of the greater sanctuaries of ancient times, dedicated to Jupiter, Olympia was the place where the famous Olympic Games were taking place every four years, gathering many athletes from the entire Greece.

Epidaurus

During ancient times Epidauros was the main place where Asklipios, god of medicine, was worshiped. Epidauros is still very famous because of its ancient well-retained theatre in which until nowadays performances take place.

Mycenae

The archaeological site of Mycenae is one of the most important sites in all Greece. The golden Mycenae considered being a landmark in ancient civilization and its remnants are true monuments of Greek art.

Knossos

It is the most ancient city of Crete, the cradle of Minoan civilization and the starting point of the European one. Knossos is the most important archaeological site of Crete.

Mystras

These two locations of the southeast corner of Peloponnese are remnants of the Greek Byzantine period. Walking through the castles, the walls and the several mansions of Mistras and Monembasia the visitor has the chance to live the Greek Medieval.

Nauplio

Nauplio, which for almost ten years was the capital of Greece, is now one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. Its basic sights are the mysterious little island of Bourtzi and the castle of Palamidi.

Corinthia

From the angle of quantity of archaeological sites and remnants, Ancient Corinthos is one of the most important areas in Greece. During ancient times Ancient Corinthos included the flourishing cities of Corinthos, Sikion, Nemeas and others of less importance.
